be the miracle

I was writing with a passion for the church to begin to wake up from its cosy slumber, and to begin to live the kingdom life that Jesus demonstrated to us. “Now” was the result. Have a listen, and tweet me your feedback.
I visited Zimbabwe in 2011 with my wife and HOPEHIV, the charity she works for. HOPEHIV support children and young people who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS in Sub-Subharan Africa. Zimbabwe has a higher number of orphans, in proportion to its population, than any other country in the world, with one in four children orphaned by AIDS. The goal of the trip, my first ever to Africa, was for us to get a glimpse into what real life looks like for the young faces and names behind these grim statistics and to see HOPEHIV’s work first hand. I liked the way HOPEHIV work with the people from local communities, and are passionate about seeing real change happen, not just talking about it. They aren’t interested in a ‘quick fix’ but in long term transformation and sustainability.
I was later asked to put together a slideshow of another trip that HOPEHIV's co-founders made to Zambia in November 2011. My wife suggested I use one of my own songs, 'Be The Miracle' as the backing track. It’s all about remembering those that are less fortunate, and asking ourselves, “what can you do to be the miracle?”. This then prompted me to think we could raise some money for HOPEHIV by selling the single. This video is the result.
I hope you are blessed by the video and music. If you'd like to support HOPEHIV, please buy the single on iTunes
100% of the profit will be going to HOPEHIV. We are aiming to raise £1,000.
